WhatsApp message templates

Short answer
Create templates in Settings → Channels → WhatsApp → Templates and submit them to Meta for approval.
Templates are pre-approved messages you need to start a conversation or message a customer after the 24-hour window closes.
Create a template
- 1Open Settings → Channels → WhatsApp → Templates
- 2Click New template
- 3Choose a category: Marketing, Utility or Authentication
- 4Choose the language
- 5Write the message. Use variables like {{1}} for the customer's name or order number
- 6Add buttons or media if needed
- 7Click Submit for approval
Meta usually reviews templates within minutes, sometimes up to 24 hours. If a template is rejected, see [Template rejected](#template-rejected).
